books on my desk waiting to be read (not to mention the pile of old and stinky newspaper 副刊論壇版 i saved up for consumption when i'm "freer"):

from left to right: "nutcases on equity & trusts" and "an intro to law of trust", both borrowed from law lib, hardly touched; "the purpose driven life", a Christian book bought from joint-publishing using its cash coupons, didn't find it as good as i expected after reading four chaps so i'm leaving it til later; the "Basic Law", for next yr's constitutional / admin law, but pretty disappointed coz it doesn't include a copy of the sino-british joint declaration (which i've only read last friday for the first time from a copy in the chambers, ever since it was signed in the year of my birth); "nutshells on criminal law", again bought with the coupons, coz i would never pay $100+ for such a thinny skinny book; "tales from no.9 ice house street", lent to me by ms. lucy yen the solicitor, written and signed by her husband's master; " 最 後 的 貴 族 " ( 即 簡 體 版 之 " 往 事 並 不 如 煙 " ) - a gift from S.B., a book i longed for but never got the chance to borrow from a lib... =) to my law buddies: don't be freaked out by the no. of law-related books i put on my desk...they don't mean anything...and i don't feel good at all being called a geek...i'm NOT...and i'm not as smart as some of you think....但 我 不 是 那 種 悄 悄 地 用 功 , 然 後 告 訴 別 人 自 己 沒 有 讀 書 的 人..........

lunch at "little egret" in tai po with family :) haven't had such quality time with my family since my summer hol started (i'm always over-occupied with my own stuff, which i truly feel bad about)...the food wasn't particularly good, but the view certainly was, especially under the "soft - and - suddenly - stormy - but - all - at - once - disappeared" rain...
