i seriously think my dad takes photos of postcard quality!

最近常被問及我的近況，讀書讀成點，放假做什麼(有建設性的事)，朋友問，aunties 和 uncles 又問，舅父舅母表姐表哥都問...

我知他們都是一片好心，但你是我你會怎答？

通常總是搬出例牌答案 (即係 "無呀咪返左一個月工，而家放鬆下囉，係呀去左間律師行，唔，學到好多野架，係呀，返中環囉，讀書？ okay 啦，係呀仲有一年畢業，但係要讀多一年考牌，如果合格，就跟住去實習...都唔係話好辛苦，但係有壓力架，soli 定 bar？好難講，我真係未決定，不過有時都唔到我去決定架啦...去旅行？上年同大學同學去左意大利，今年可能同屋企人去內地玩下囉..." ) ，我自己聽完都悶死！

其實問我的人好像比我還要關心似的，問題究竟出在哪裡？難道我應該答他們，我之前忙著幫七一遊行設計書簽(話題太敏感)？或者忙著去香港公園影雀仔(大熱天時無野做)？去朋友家裡捉棋(悶蛋才做的事)？還是說我出席了拔萃的音樂會樂而忘返(更悶)？

如果我說我近來忙打機 (simcity，simtower，lemmings and 坦克車，全部係懷舊的 pixel art games)，他們會怎樣想我？如果我近來煩的是我個 nicesoda.com 的 bandwidth 問題，而不是什麼 trainee contract applications，我就是瘋了嗎？如果說我近來迷上 audioscrobbler / douban / trillian，他們會明白麼？還有聽 DBS 去 Wales 比賽的 choir recordings，彈 chopin's nocturnes，讀龍應台、練乙錚、余秋雨的文章等等等等...我在浪費時間嗎？

do you believe me when i say i don't care about getting trainee contracts or not? is it a problem if all i look forward to is yet another diocesan production? or a trio from finland that nobody ever heard of? do i sound boastful if i tell you that my past is so glamourous that i don't know how to move on? is it odd for a law student to feel enthusiastic about no courses but one offered by the faculty of science? and for her to get an A+ in none but this course? does it offend you to say that i don't feel any sense of pride, confidence, or elitism when i "walk in Central amongst the various business people wearing suits" like some of you do? why, oh why can't i just be the dgs girl i once was?
